CARLSBAD, Calif., Aug. 1 () -- Sisters Urszula and Agnieszka Radwanska earned quarterfinal spots for the second straight week Thursday with second-round wins at the Southern California Open.Agnieszka Radwanska, the tournament's No. 2 seed, reached the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Daniela Hantuchova. Urszula Radwanska was a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 winner over Jelena Jankovic.The sisters were also quarterfinalists at the Bank of the West Classic at Stanford a week ago, but both lost to eventual champion Dominika Cibulkova.In other second-round matches Thursday, Virginie Razzano defeated Carla Suarez Navarro 6-1, 6-4, and Ana Ivanovic ousted qualifier Coco Vandeweghe 7-6 (7-5), 6-3.Urszula Radwanska will meet top-seeded Victoria Azarenka in the quarterfinals Friday and her sister will face Samantha Stosur. |
