Display adaptor Can not start code 10 in device manager,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
Hey all,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], new member and love the information on this site. I recently performed a clean install of Windows xp pro and now my pc shows the default vgasave monitor in display and my video card as "Can not start (code 10)" in Device Manager. I installed my drivers properly,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], removed and cleaned connections,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], reinstalled windows and drivers a few times (modo chipset first,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], video card then sound card) and am at a loss. Here are my particulars on the PC. I received the error message in my original post. So, i uninstalled 178.24 then installed an older driver 84.20. The pc boots fine all the way through the Windows xp logo screen,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], then turns black,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], monitor light turn from green to amber and there is no display although i believe the programs are loading because i can hear the sounds associated with start up. I have also tried stepping up my driver to the 90 series with the same result. (ran driver sweeper after unistalls).
I am going to try a couple of restore points to see if that works. Again,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], thanks for the responses thus far.
Monitor is ViewSonic VX 922 with drivers installed; it was not in device manager. But,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I installed 178.24 driver in safe mode and received same error (code 10). I uninstalled driver installed 94.20,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], booted up to blank screen again. I shut off PC (drank a beer),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], removed my graphics card,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], cleaned connections,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], reinstalled it and rebooted.
I can now boot to windows where it recognizes my card and monitor,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but every 10 seconds or so the monitor goes black,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], says "signal lost", indicator turns from green to amber then it comes back on a few seconds later.
