BMW's secret new sports vehicle,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
The car uses the trunk bodywork from the current 6-Series with the nose from the Vision EfficientDynamics concept car which debuted at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].

The images and videos do hand out the mule is running on narrow 195-section tyres which dramatically reduce rolling resistance,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], mounted on aerodynamic wheels.
The videos make sure the car uses electric power,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], thanks to its silent running,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but includes a conventional powerplant too,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which can be heard in one of the videos and it is hinted at through the car's small exhaust pipe.
The mule would be the focus of BMW's future efficiency technology,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which was previewed through the Vision EfficientDynamics concept,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and can spawn a production sports vehicle in 2012.
The idea featured a compact,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel engine boosted with a 60kW electric motor in front,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and a further 38kW motor which formed part of the double clutch gearbox. A variant of this is probably what's hiding beneath this prototype's Frankenstein bodywork.
