Out of Control Orders
I start from the premise that punishments shouldn't be imposed without the punished being able to challenge the evidence, so I've always opposed the control orders introduced by Labour in 2005.
As David Cameron and Nick Clegg play coalition politics(as presumably will Ed Miliband in the near future) while discussing public protection, we should remember Cerie Bullivant.
All sorts of monitoring and restrictions are imposed on convicted criminals, including tagging and curfews. But whatever replaces control orders must allow the controlled to challenge the controllers. I can't see how a Liberal could disagree.
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law, were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
Separately, Gillard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying she supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:
