This trip follows the North Fork of the John Day River downstream for 16.5 miles from Monument to the fork's confluence with the main John Day River near Kimberly. The river then continues as the main John Day to Spray and Service Creek. Oregon 19 and the Kimberly-Long Creek Highway follow the river closely for the entire distance.
