Highway Traffic Safety Administration says no evidence of design flaw
WASHINGTON, Oct. 25 () -- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said it would not investigate Tesla Motors for a fiery crash that occurred near Seattle in early October. The agency said the accident did not reveal any design flaw that would provoke an investigation of the crash, gucci outlet online, which received media attention after photographs and videos of a Tesla S car in flames were posted on the Internet. At the time, Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk posted a response online that said the cause of the crash was a piece of metal that fell off a truck and that the car proved its worth. The fire was restricted to the battery compartment of the car and no passengers were hurt, CNNMoney reported Friday."After reviewing all available data, the NHTSA has not found evidence at this time that would indicate the recent battery fire involving a Tesla Model S was the result of a vehicle safety defect or non-compliance with federal safety standards," the automobile industry watchdog said in a statement. |
