Preppy fashion is big news this season
School will quickly be out for that summer,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but preppy fashion is hot news for everyone this season as Dianne Bourne finds out.
It may happen to be a break using their studies, but models Olivia Williams and Graham Scaife are still top of the class. The happy couple,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], both 17,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], have bright futures in front of them within the modelling world after winning Mancheser's unique Mix-d mixed race modelling competition.
But while the two youngsters' stunning visual appearance have garnered huge curiosity about the style world,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], both are clever enough to know that education must come first.
Graham, from New Moston, is currently in the center of studying public services training at college,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], with plans to become a fireman. Meanwhile Olivia, from Cheadle,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], is incorporated in the midst of studying for A-levels at Aquinas College.
Therefore it seemed somewhat fitting that our model students should model smart and preppy looking fashions big in the shops come july 1st within our collegiate-style shoot over in the imposing corridors and hallways of Manchester's Palace Hotel on Oxford Street,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
For would-be fireman Graham,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], his new job in modelling has had him completely aback.
He smiles: "I'd never thought of modelling before. With the competition itself you meet many individuals you can connect with through their heritage.
"I grew up in an exceedingly white area,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], there were probably only three individuals that were mixed race inside my school, so I was always aware I was different. I'd never really understood that side of my culture perfectly because of becoming an adult in such a white area. I've always had comments about my hair, and I'd been self-conscious about this,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but now I'm in a stage where I realise everyone has something different about them that sets them apart."
