Tomoka Oaks Golf Country Club in Ormond Beach
Ormond Beach, east of Orlando and north of Daytona Beach, is located in Florida's Fun Coast region, on the Central Atlantic Coast. Ormond Beach was originally settled in the 1870's by employees of the Corbin Lock Company, of New Britain, Connecticut. The Company was seeking a winter retreat for its employees and chose this region. During the previous Spanish occupation of Florida, the site had been a plantation owned by James Ormond, a Scottish sea captain. The community is named after Captain Ormond.
