men's volleyball coach Hugh McCutcheon rejoined his team Saturday after missing the team's first four games because of an attack on his in-laws in a popular tourist site in Beijing,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
McCutcheon took a brief leave after his father-in-law,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Todd Bachman,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], was fatally stabbed one week ago. His mother-in-law, Barbara Bachman,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], was badly wounded. remained undefeated having a 25-22,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 25-12 25-18 victory over China. The Americans already had clinched a quarterfinal spot.

The Bachmans would be the parents of McCutcheon's wife,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], former volleyball Olympian Elisabeth "Wiz" Bachman McCutcheon.
"We are indebted to the physicians and caregivers at Peking Union Medical College Hospital who have done such a wonderful job providing Barbara using the health care she needed,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," Hugh McCutcheon said inside a statement written by USA Volleyball.

The prayers and support happen to be a source of strength for the family during this hard time."
The Bachmans were in Beijing included in a tour group for that Olympics, and their trip to the Drum Tower was part of their group's schedule. A Chinese tour guide also was wounded in the attack by the assailant, Tang Yongming,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who leapt to his death from a balcony of the 13th-century Drum Tower.
