Arrow: Blu-ray From John Woo, a broken film, though not one without its share of cheap fun. The plot can be involved using the undoing of two men one played by John travolta, another by Christian Slater. Exist two less threatening men within the movies? Not really, and these two realize it, which reaches the film seriocomic tone intended or otherwise. Rated R. Grade: C
HD DVD and Blu-ray This 1968 classic uses Bay area like a toy. It features the best car chase ever captured on film (it runs an unrelenting, unpredictable 11 minutes),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], with a performance by Steve McQueen as Detective Frank Bullitt that just as charged as the action. Robert Vaughn and Robert Duvall factor favorably in to the mix, though Jacqueline Bisset fairs less well she only here use a sexual distraction. Bisset achieves that, however when she asked to speak, there a large part of you that simply wishes she wouldn Peter Yates directs. Grade: A-
Royale: DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray Daniel Craig isn just the best Bond since Sean Connery,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he in fact creates a richer, more complex Bond, bringing to the character the sort of depth and nuance that Connery never mined. That isn a criticism of Connery, whose genius as Bond is one of popular culture great pleasures. Instead, it an observation of the way Bond is handled here. Royale is an origins movie that considers the brash, younger Bond. It designed to infuse him having a back story designed to explain how, in this case, Bond became Bond. The result is enormously gratifying, with the evolution of the film relationships giving the final third its fierce (and surprising) dramatic pull. The superlative action scenes don hurt, either, nor do the performances or the writing, which are smart and compelling, out of the box this new Bond himself. Rated PG-13. Grade: A
Season Three Set in La, this staple follows the efforts of paramedics Roy DeSoto (Kevin Tighe) and John Gage (Randolph Mantooth) as they aid the stricken. A scrambling ambulance ride pulls the rest of the story into the ER, where the smoldering Dr. Kelly Brackett (Robert Fuller) and the no-nonsense nurse Dixie McCall (Julie London) tend to the wounded. Thirty-three years later,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the show is pure corn for that hungry, just dated enough to be satisfyingly retro. But only just. Grade: B-
Food Nation The film could have been great, particularly given its source material Eric Schlosser disturbing book about the junk food industry,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], its filth and underlying corruption. Unfortunately, this fictionalized account crisscrosses a lot of plot threads, celebrate for a frayed narrative. The movie biting edge provides it with a boost, particularly in its examination of how immigrants are treated within the meat industry as well as in how we all should question what in the burgers we eat and what in the meat we purchase at the supermarket. The news isn a revelation,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but it no less stomach turning to realize how easily manure is ground into all of it. With Bruce Willis and Greg Kinnear. Rated R. Grade: B-
Getaway: HD DVD and Blu-ray From 1972, Sam Peckinpah convoluted mess of a heist movie. Steve McQueen stars as a convict whose wife (Ali MacGraw) devises an agenda to keep him out of prison if your Texas politician will release McQueen from jail, they give him half their originate from a pending robbery. Beyond the writing, that is with out them quotable line (unusual for Peckinpah), MacGraw is a weak link, delivering her lines using the passion of the stick. Still, she's nothing on Sally Struthers wreck of a performance, which is the reason her career mostly was contained to television. Rated PG. Grade: C
Mrs. Smith: Blu-ray Now in hd, the largest screen orgasm of 2005 just received bigger. Flashy, predictable and empty, with a trash plot driving it, the film allows audiences to savor it as its stars and director obviously intended within the privacy of the bedrooms, with the television on and also the shades shut. The film confirms that Mr brad pitt and Julia roberts have something which transcends performance and goes deeper than chemistry; they the real deal. As rote his or her roles are in this comedic espionage thriller, it clear from the first moment we have seen them as John and Jane Smith a bored,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], supernaturally sexy husband and wife in the bickering throes of marriage counseling that they like one another plenty and also have arrived at have some fun. That attraction as well as their good time prove transcendent. Rated PG-13. Grade: B
from the Nerds: Panty Raid Edition Delivers what it promises. Nerds? Check. Revenge? Check. Panty raid? Check. Good movie? Sure, at least within the most qualified sense. This 1984 film in regards to a number of geeks who rise against a group of jocks at Adams College has sentimental value to spare it still speaks for plenty. Some scenes are riotous and the cast,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], including Anthony Edwards, James Cromwell,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], John Goodman, Timothy Busfield and Curtis Armstrong,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], is surprisingly good. Includes the featurette,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a Nerd and I Pretty Proud of It. Somebody needs to be. Rated R. Grade: B-
from the Lambs: Collector Edition Bad shoes, great movie but what left to say of it? Apparently,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], plenty. This new collector edition from the 1991 classic features several worthwhile extras, such as the hour-long documentary the Labyrinth: Making from the Silence from the Lambs, the three-part documentaries Page to Screen and Demme Jodie Foster,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as well as 22 deleted scenes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], an outtakes reel and, most amusingly, recipe cards for Fava Bean Risotto and Roast Saddle of Lamb,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], among other delicacies. The second is kitsch,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], however the film, a modern-day classic, easily overcomes it. Rated R. Grade: A
