Cavs’ Varejao says he is at 70 percent, will be ready for camp
Last season Anderson Varejao played in 25 games, his health slowed by blood clots in his leg. He spent last season and most of this summer (except when he was getting married) working on getting healthy.Which would be nice — 31 games is the most Varejao has played in a season the last three. When he’s gotten on the court he has played well (he had an All-Star level PER of 21.7 last season before the clots) but he hasn’t played much.Cleveland could have a dangerous front line — if everyone is healthy. Andrew Bynum is on no discernable timetable. Anthony Bennett is playing 5-on-5 now and seems recovered, but he’s a rookie. The healthy bodies are Tristan Thompson and Tyler Zeller. As for Varejao, he puts himself at 70 percent, he told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. My goal this season is just to stay healthy, he said. Everything else will come.'…I need to get rhythm back but it feels good, he said. I'm very happy. I've been testing my quad in those pick up games, setting a lot of screens, going up for offensive rebounds that's my game. It feels good. It feels,Jimmy Choo Boots Sale, actually, great. I don't even think about it any more, which is good.Varejao and Bynum, if both are healthy, could help each other out by splitting time at the five and taking the load off each other. But that’s a big if.However,Jimmy Choo Shoes Sale, the Cavaliers’ playoff dreams could hinge on that if. |
