Anyone got any tips about top quality, affordable (ie no more than £25) girls school shoes that will last more than half a term?
I acquired DD some nice shoes from Next,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Leather with a velcro strap she could manage herself. I believe these were about £20
Now, considering they wear plimsolls in the classroom, she is only wearing these footwear for half a day while she's in pre-school and obviously at break times,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but they're already completely trashed
So,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], cue another shoe shopping expedition at half term , you do too have any recommendations?
Clarks did an incredible shoe before the summer for boys, where the sole carries right over the toe and heel, thereby protecting them,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but haven't seen anything similar this term or for girls
I'm with CM - you need to do appear to get that which you purchase.
I have not needed to buy another set of school shoes simply because they normally wear out (though I do polish them pretty regularly to cover up the scuffs!). I purchase them at the end of August, have them checked at Feb half term, and sometimes the kids have sandals going back half of the summer term and all the holidays. This past year both the kids had the same pair of school shoes all seasons.
DS, that has strange shaped feet and is exceptionally hard on his shoes (what 9 years old who loves football isn't!) has Startrite shoes because they fit him. They are REALLY expensive because he is in adult size 4.5,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but for a year's wear I'm quite happy with that.
DD alternates between Statrite and Clarks. In my experience, the Startrite ones last better,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], mainly because they have a tendency to become very plain without any shiny insets or different leathers or whatever, and are made from better leather, so they improve a goody and appear great even when worn.
It is really hard laying out so much on shoes - I had to swallow hard when paying for the children's brand new ones in August - however in my experience,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it is worth paying more in advance.
I agree with other people - it truly is a case of you get what you purchase,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. whilst footwear is expensive I view it such as this - we spend the majority of our walking endures our feet so its vitally important to have them properly measured and set into good quality shoes so that we do not pay the cost of ill fitting cheap shoes when we are older with bunions and so on.
I hate Clarks shoes with a passion however thats just me and know lots of others who have had no problems with them,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
I take my children to an independent children's shoe shop in my local town and have had either Startrite or Riccosta shoes and these have both lasted the entire school year. Find out more.
