Kline expects new spring merchandise deliveries this month but says no one seems interested in buying at full price.
"Everyone is shopping the sale. I've never seen customers look for bargains the way they are right now," she says. "We had a temporary outlet store two doors down from us for a few weeks, and I swear it was the busiest store on the street. It was crazy."

"In difficult economic times, people don't dress sloppy or too casual. They dress better because they feel the pressure to perform," says Giddon. "Guys won't be going to work in khakis and a polo shirt. The guy who wants to keep his job is dressing up."
