NYMEX crude oil down on lower economic forecasts
NEW YORK, May 29 () -- Crude oil prices slipped in New York, dropping under $93 per barrel, after the International Monetary Fund lowered economic expectations for China.The IMF predicted China's gross domestic product would grow 7.75 percent in 2013 and 2014, down from a previous forecast of 8 percent growth in 2013 and 8.2 percent expansion in 2014.The Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development lowered its forecast for economic growth in the eurozone and across the globe Wednesday.The OECD said the gross domestic output of the eurozone would contract 0.6 percent in 2013. The organization previously predicted a contraction of 0.1 percent.The global economy is expected to grow 3.1 percent in 2013.
